About the Classroom and Mrs. Wilson
Welcome to Second Grade!! This is my 12th year of teaching full time. I taught at Unity Christian School for ten years, eight in Kindergarten and two in Second Grade, before transferring to Zeigler-Roylaton. Last year I taught Kindergarten and I'm excited about the move to Second Grade!! As a class, we will be learning the curriculum together. Our reading program is called Reading Street and it encompasses phonics, language, reading, spelling, and vocabulary. We are beginning a new math curriculum school wide, K-5th grade, called Ready Math. I am using the Classroom Dojo behavior management system which awards students for good behavior that will transfer over to classroom bucks to use in our store. At the end of each month, students will be able to spend their money or save it to purchase higher priced awards. Students can lose classroom points for incomplete assignments, misbehaving, or disrespect to staff or students. You can view your child's points daily using the link on the home page. Each student will also get two PRIDE points each day. If your child ends the week with all of their PRIDE points they will get to attend the 'Fun Friday' activity Friday afternoon. I run a loving but strict classroom environment so that each student can reach their full potential. Students need to realize now that it is their responsibility to complete and return assignments, keep track of their things, and have positive peer relations. Together, with your help, we will train up your child to achieve academic, social, and emotional success!! Let's have an AMAZING year!!
I have a beautiful family of 6! My husband Andrew is an Assistant State's Attorney in Williamson County and we reside in Marion. We attend First Baptist Church in Marion where I am the leader of Kids Worship, member of the choir, handbell choir, and orchestra. To say I love music is an understatement! My oldest daughter Alexis is soon to be turning 16 so stay off the roads as much as possible, lol! She is a straight A student, member of the Student Council, and active member of the MHS Jazz Choir. She keeps us busy with all of her activities. Adelynn will be turning 6 in October and just started Kindergarten. She loves to sing and dance and keeps us laughing every second. My twins, Andi and Austin will be 2 in December. They keep us running in different directions all the time. They are so sweet but are so very different. Andi is so lovable, calm, and independent. Austin is a maniac and is constantly running everywhere he goes. He is all boy and is a little destructive at times but stops to dance when he hears music. As a family we enjoy taking walks, playing at the park, singing, dancing, and just goofing off.
